Who IS that masked man?

It has come to my attention that I have not posted in a while (thanks for the gentle nudge) as I have been rather distracted! It is almost the end of November and I am just posting a Hallowe'en picture - I've certainly got to work on my timing. This is a costume (pattern from Martha Stewart Baby Magazine) that I made for my nephew's first Hallowe'en and both he and his sister have worn it. I was so happy to find out that my sister had saved it and so D got to wear it for his first Hallowe'en. I had no idea where I was going to find the time to make a costume for him this year and this was the perfect solution! Now if only someone could do something about deciding on what to do for his first stocking... at the rate I'm going I'll have 100 ideas and we will wind up hanging a plain old sock!

Eleven Years and One Baby

Today is our 11th wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a triple layer chocolate cake (also known as Schlanty Cake*). I can't think of a place I'd rather be than with the two most important boys in my life - I love you both so very much!

* Schlanty Cake is any homemade cake that has either not been leveled before assembly or it's the middle of the summer and the frosting melts resulting in a very slanty cake. I like to think of it as my signature dish.

Finally! A first post!

My husband will be so proud!

I have been thinking about creating a blog for a number of years with the hope that it would inspire me to finish some of the many craft projects that have been started but never finished. After many years of hearing me gripe about it, my wonderful husband had this website created for me and gave it to me as a gift when our son was born. I can't think of a better first post than to introduce our beautiful 3 week old baby boy, Declan.

We are crazy in love with him and are the embodiment of new parent clichés.
